Mass of Christian Burial for Ian Donald McDougall will be at 9 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2020 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Gillette, WY with Father Bryce Lungren officiating; interment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Gillette, WY. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday November 5, 2020 at Gillette Memorial Chapel, Gillette, WY. Ian Donald McDougall, 26, passed away October 30, 2020 in Laramie, WY. Ian was born in Gillette, WY on April 6, 1994 to Angus and Sara (Hartsaw) McDougall. He grew up in Gillette and graduated from Campbell County High School in 2012. He met the love of his life while in High School. Shortly after graduation, Ian enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He completed boot camp and became a full-fledged Marine September 20, 2012. While home on recruiting duty he married the love of his life Kayla (Oller). After SOI and honorable discharge Ian returned to Gillette. Ian and Kayla welcomed their first child in 2015. Norah was Ian’s pride and joy and she loves her daddy. Second daughter, Alannah was born in 2019. Ian completed his Associates degree at Gillette Community College in 2017. Wanting to pursue a career in Criminal Justice, he attended the University of Wyoming where he lived at the time of his death. Ian loved his daughters very much. He enjoyed shooting sports, arguing philosophy, and spending time with friends, especially the Veteran community in Laramie. He always wore the medal of his Patron, St. Michael. Ian will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Kayla McDougall and his two beautiful daughters, Norah and Alannah, his parents, siblings, extended family and friends. Ian is survived by his loving wife Kayla McDougall, two daughters Norah and Alannah of Gillette, Wyoming; mother, Sara Hartsaw; father, Angus McDougall of Gillette Wyoming; sister Kathleen McDougall(Andy) of Kaiserslautern, Germany; brother, Thane McDougall of Austin, Texas; sister, Ellen McDougall of Gillette, Wyoming; sister, Adilide McDougall of Minneapolis, Minnesota and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Ian is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, John and Sarah Hartsaw; paternal grandparents, Frank and Ellen McDougall and his loving dog Chesty.
