Jacqueline Betty Helvey went to her heavenly home on April 3, 2020, in the company of family and the loving staff of the Legacy in Gillette, Wyoming after a courageous battle with dementia. Jackie was born March 20, 1937 in Toledo, Ohio to Taft and Betty Everett. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Robert Bathel. She is survived by her husband, Paul Helvey. Son Bernard Bathel (Laura) of San Diego, California. Brother Bob (Dee) Evearitt of Ada, MI, her granddaughter, Taylor (Scott) Stone and her great granddaughter, Juniper of Asheville, NC. Nieces and nephews surviving Jackie are Kristin (Chris) Lowe and Talise, Matt (Erika) Evearitt and Seoul, Amy Magee and Audrey, Dan Evearitt and Eric (Dina) Evearitt. Jackie is also survived by her special double cousins, Pat Evearitt Martin, Tim Evearitt, Terry Evearitt, Dan Evearitt, Becky Lawrence and Kathy Sanders, their spouses and children. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Jill (Kevin) Hampleman, and stepson, Dan (Cathy) Helvey. step grandchildren Courtney Hampleman and fiancee Jay Pierce, Katie (Eric) Strand, Megan (Craig) Bear, Abbey (Derek) Brazelton, Andrew (Christina) Helvey, Justin Helvey and Amy Helvey. She is also survived by seven step great grandchildren, Hallie, Jude, Sophie, Trigg, Violet, Oliver and Ozzy. Jackie attended Nyack College and worked for several years with special education students in Toledo. Jackie loved serving the Lord wherever she lived during her lifetime. During retirement, Jackie and Paul worked as volunteers at Jungle Aviation and Radio Service in Waxhaw, NC which is affiliated with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Jackie and her husband, Paul traveled through the United States, including Alaska and Canada, moving missionaries and pastors to their new locations in an 18-wheeler. Paul and Jackie thoroughly enjoyed all the families that they met along their journeys. They have lived in Gillette, WY in recent years to be near Paul’s family.
