Funeral service for James “Jim” Keller will be held at 2:00 pm., Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Susan Reichenberg officiating; interment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2017 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. James Timothy Keller, 70, of Gillette, WY died on Thursday, December 7th, 2017, at Wyoming Medical Center, in Casper, WY, following complications from surgery. He was surrounded by his family. Jim was born in Mott, ND on April 28, 1947 to John and Viola Keller. He moved often during his childhood due to his father working in the oil industry, having lived in ND, Wyoming, and Montana. He graduated from Campbell County High School in 1966, lettering in Band and Track. Following high school he attended Casper College for a year before being enlisted in the US Army, serving from 1968 to 1970, during Vietnam. Following his service, he moved to Dickinson, ND, where he worked as a press operator for the Dickinson Press. It was during this time that he met Doris Gawryluk. They married in 1971, in Dickinson, ND. Soonafter, they moved to Gillette, WY where Jim was employed by Deckers Food Center for 25 years until they closed their doors in 1998. He retired from Campbell County Memorial Hospital in 2012. Jim liked to ride motorcycles, snowmobile (in his younger days), listen to music and travel, especially to see family. Jim was a devoted husband and father, who had an enormous heart. He will be forever known for his kind, gentle spirit. He had an incredible work ethic, and was a man of Godly character and integrity. He loved the Lord, and others deeply. Jim is survived by his son, Todd Pittenger of Gillette, WY, daughters: Juli Simmons (Joe Simmons) of Gillette, WY, Karla Laws (Chris) of Millville, NJ, Kimberly Lawrence (Bud) of Gillette, WY, 4 granddaughters, one grandson, and two great-grandchildren, and special friend, Mitzi Petitt. He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris and parents, John and Viola Keller.
