James Howard Vigil

In loving memory of a father and husband, James Howard Vigil, who passed away on December 1, 2023, at the age of 60. He was the devoted husband of Elise Vigil and loving father of Michael Vigil, Benjamin Vigil and Shelby (TJ) Bruce. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

One of the kindest souls on this planet, Jim was a gentle, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage.

Early in life, our father learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in children. He was always there for us, whether we needed help with our homework or just a shoulder to cry on. He was a man of strong faith and he taught us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right.

Jim loved to watch sports always cheering for the Lakers or Raiders. Most days he was out looking at vehicles and making friends! His highlights of the last few years was watching his grandson grow up and play any sport Papa was always there cheering him on. 

Jim is survived by his wife Elise Vigil of 38 years; children, Michael, Shelby (TJ), and Benjamin; grandchildren, Addison Bruce and Bentley Vigil; plus numerous nieces and nephews, along with great nieces and nephews. 

Jim is predeceased in death by his parents, Joe and Darlene Vigil; siblings, Dave Vigil, Mary Toland, Cindy Loveday; and Jim's Pet Dog, Rocky. 

Jim was a true role model who we will always look up to. 

A memorial service will be conducted at Gillette Memorial Chapel on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 10 AM, immediately followed by a graveside committal and time of fellowship at Mt Pisgah cemetery.

Jim, you are now at peace but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
