Memorial service for Jamie Mooney will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Pastor Steve Carnahan officiating. Jamie Lynn Mooney, 45, of Gillette, Wyoming, passed away on February 28, 2024, after a 6-year battle with cancer. Jamie was born on April 1, 1978, to Deborah Roberts, in Spokane, Washington. She attended grade school and graduated from Campbell County High School in Gillette, Wyoming. Later in life, she received a bachelor’s degree in Science Occupational Safety and Health. One year after graduating from high school, she caught the eye of Patrick Mooney. It was love at first sight..for him. After he won her heart, they were married two years later. During that time, she worked several different jobs as Patrick was moving around for work himself. January 1, 2001, Jamie brought her son Sebastian into this world with a little help from Patrick. Eighteen months later her daughter Haley was born. Jamie then started her career at Campbell County Hospital, where she worked for over twenty years. Jamie, being an April fool’s baby, was always a practical joker. Sometimes it took a while to figure out if she was trying to pull a fast one on you or not. She loved cooking and baking. She made several fun birthday cakes for family and friends. Everyone around her looked forward to holidays, as she could always cook the most delicious foods and goodies, and she gave the most thoughtful gifts. It is incredibly difficult to sum up the impact and influence she had on those around her. Jamie touched everybody’s lives and made it a point to make those surrounding her to feel important and special. She showed up when it mattered, had your back, and would stand up for her loved ones should need for it arose. Jamie is survived by her loving husband Patrick, her son Sebastian and daughter Haley, mother and stepfather Debbie and Earl Lewis, brother Lance, sister Jimmie, mother- and father-in-law Jan and Allen Mooney, aunts and uncles, and many loyal friends and extended family members. She will be greatly missed by all. Memorials are suggested to be made in Jamie’s name to benefit Heptner Cancer Center at Campbell County Health 501 South Burma Ave, Gillette, WY 82716. Memorials and condolences may be sent in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel 210 West 5th Street, Gillette, WY 82716.
