Memorial service for Jeff Dale will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 28, 2021 at High Plains Community Church with Pastor Dan Morgan officiating. Jeffery Todd Dale, 58 years old, passed away in Billings, MT on August 22, 2021. Jeff was born in Salt Lake City, UT to Ron and Barbara (Swinney) Dale on March 24, 1963. In 1973 Ron moved his family to Gillette, WY to work and help start the Amax Belle Ayr and Eagle Butte Coal Mines, along with his father-in-law, Earnest Swinney. Jeff was raised and attended schools in Gillette, graduating from Campbell County High School in 1981. Jeff has three siblings: Heather Knapp (Denton), Deby Campbell (Dave) and Jason Dale (Jorgene). Jeff and Darsi (Hoblit) Dale were married in 1988. Jeff has three amazing children; Jamie Larson, Nate Dale, Brittni Dale and three grandchildren, who were the joy of his life, Seth Larson, Reid Larson and Kylon Dale. Jeff’s relationship with Jesus Christ was his top priority. Christ was always present in all Jeff did, how he treated people, and how he served his family and friends. It was important to him to share his relationship with Jesus with everyone. His heart was filled with joy when he could help people with anything, big or small. Jeff was physically larger than life, but his heart and soul were even bigger. He was the definition of selfless and always looked outwards to accommodate other’s needs. Jeff was passionate about spending time with family and friends and used his hobbies to bring people together. No matter the activity or project at hand, Jeff’s primary goal was to get people together for the comradery and create those everlasting memories. He was very adamant that every project needed his supervision and needed to be carried out in his timing. If you were not meeting his deadlines, he never hesitated to let you know you needed to be focused and be more proactive. He also would work right alongside you and help you be more proactive! Golf and old cars were included in some of his passions. Never without a smile, a smart comment, and a strong handshake, he made friends everywhere he went. He did not know a stranger and would talk to anyone anywhere. Jeff worked at several places throughout the Powder River Basin that helped mold him into a great communicator and businessman. The following places of his employment were instrumental in his life in many ways: Rimpull Corporation, Rocky Mountain Machinery, Cummins Rocky Mountain, Bucyrus, CAT Global, SLS, and Basin Power Solutions. He has always loved this community and was grateful for the opportunities and provisions it provided. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Ron and Barb Dale and nephew, Brandon Knapp. Jeff lived a wonderful life, full of serving the Lord, love and laughter. God’s peace to his faithful servant.
