Jennifer Renee Holmes, 53, of Gillette, WY, was unexpectedly called home on July 19, 2024. She was born May 25, 1971, to Mel and Vicky Hoff of Eureka, SD. She spent her wild youth growing up in Douglas, WY. After high school, she spent time in Miles City and Billings, MT before planting her roots in Gillette, WY in 1994. She was only supposed to spend one summer in Gillette, yet she spent the rest of her life here. Her work eventually led her to Campbell County Health where she met her soulmate and other half, Harwell L. (Navar) Holmes Jr. Jennifer valued her community, evident from her further work experiences with Primrose Retirement Community and CLIMB Wyoming. She ended her career at TIMCO Service & Supply as the HR/Business Manager. Jennifer took great pride in her flower beds and gardens, often spending her evenings tending to flowers and running from bees and wasps. She and her husband both shared a passion for the Big Horn mountains. Her favorite spot was Sitting Bull campground where the two would find themselves spending many weekends. However, Jennifer’s biggest joy was her family whom she loved more than one could imagine. Words could never describe her. To many she was a role model who always seemed to know the right path. She would say it was life lessons learned the hard way. Jennifer always wanted the best for those she loved, and she had an uncanny ability to recognize the not-so-obvious path to make anything happen. Jennifer was a best friend to so many people, she gave strength to anyone who needed it. Jennifer is survived by her husband, Navar Holmes, son Christopher Holmes, son Jaremy Holmes, mother Vicky Hoff, brother Nick (Julie) Hoff, sister Becky (Justin) Dike, grandmother Marilyn Hoffman, as well as her niece, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Mel Hoff, grandparents Daniel and Ruth Hoff, and grandfather Eugene Fauth. While she may no longer be with us, her perseverance and love will remain treasured memories by those she impacted. In Jennifer’s memory, please consider a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project.
