Jimmy Leroy Anderson, 78, of Gillette, Wyoming, passed away on March 2, 2025. Born on October 20, 1946, in Noonan, North Dakota, he lived a life full of hard work, adventure, and deep love for his family.

Jimmy grew up in a lively household as one of eleven siblings, where he learned the value of perseverance, faith, and a good sense of humor. He attended Columbus High School, graduating in 1962, before continuing his education at North Dakota State School of Science. His career was marked by his industrious spirit—he was a farmer, builder, developer, and entrepreneur, always eager to take on new challenges.

A proud veteran, Jimmy served in the U.S. Navy from January 28, 1964, to April 12, 1967, including time in Vietnam. His service shaped his sense of discipline and duty, qualities he carried into every aspect of his life.

On August 21, 1998, he married the love of his life, Virginia, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Gillette. Their life together was filled with laughter, companionship, and unwavering devotion. A man of deep faith, Jimmy lived his life with kindness and integrity.

Jimmy had a passion for bowling and golfing, often spending his free time enjoying these activities with family and friends. But above all, he cherished his role as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia Anderson; his children, Angela Plett, David Hughes, and Jennifer Hughes; and his grandchildren, Austin Plett, Joshua Hughes, Chelsey Davenport, Britney Hughes, Adelaide Plett, and Jacob Hughes. He is also survived by his siblings, Sharrel Boen, Randy Anderson, Shari Wilson, Steven Anderson, Tamara Anderson, and Teresa Anderson, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who adored him.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Virginia and La Vern “Butch” Anderson, and his siblings, Shane Anderson, Robert Anderson, Kim Anderson, and Kathy Anderson. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication. His presence will be missed but never forgotten.
