John William Green

Funeral services for John Green will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2017 at Gillette Memorial Chapel; interment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. John Green age 77 passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at Close to Home Hospice in Gillette, WY after a short but valiant fight against lung cancer.  John William Green was born on January 8, 1940 in Denver, CO to Wilma (Barnes) and John L. Green. He graduated from Big Stone Gap High School in Big Stone Gap, VA in 1958.  He married Laura Alice Morgan on October 15, 1959. He moved to Gillette, WY in 1978. John is survived by his wife; Laura Green, son; John David Green both of Gillette, WY, sisters; Edith Bonnsetter of Arvada, CO and Alice Green of Wheatridge, CO, along with two grandchildren; John Dylan Green and Gabriel Green. The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be made in John’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
