John Hubbard

Funeral service for John Hubbard will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Gordon Harper officiating; interment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. John R Hubbard, 93, of Gillette, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023 at his home. John was born June 17, 1930, in Buffalo, Wyoming, the fifth of eight children to Ned and Leora Hubbard. John graduated from high school in Gillette in 1949 and joined the National Guard, serving as an active member until 1962. He married Irene Quatier on March 2, 1957. During their life together, they had four children, Mark, Sandy, Joe and Russ. Throughout his life, John worked in the auto body repair business, opening his own shop, Westside Body Shop. John was a member of the Sheriff’s Posse Campbell County Search and Rescue as well as a volunteer firefighter. He also taught Hunters Safety for over 30 years. John was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time at Keyhole. After John and Irene retired, they enjoyed traveling south during the winter. John is survived by sons, Mark, Joe (Lori) and Russ; grandchildren Katie, Brad, Shanna, Brandon and Hunter; great-grandchildren Skyler, Jadyn, Kyle and Ava and his sister, Pauline Raver as well as numerous nephews and nieces. His wife Irene, daughter Sandy, parents Ned and Leora and siblings preceded him in death.
