Funeral service for Joyce Stump will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 5, 2020 at First Assembly of God, Gillette, WY. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Joyce Mae Stump, 75, went to be with her savior on October 26, 2020. She left this world in the arms of her loving husband at her home in Pine Haven, Wyoming. Joyce was born March 6, 1945 to Fred and Madie Belle Wilson in Athens, Texas. She was the youngest of four siblings. Joyce was all tomboy growing up, she loved fishing and throwing rocks with the best of them. Joyce met the love of her life, William (Bill) Stump and they got married May 9, 1959 in Odessa, Texas and later had their three daughters. Joyce and Bill moved from Odessa, Texas to Hobbs, New Mexico where they raised their family. Joyce stayed home and raised their daughters until their teenage years when she went to work at different shoe stores such as, Anthony’s in Odessa, Texas and later on at Anthony’s in Gillette, Wyoming when they moved to Gillette in 1979. Joyce and Bill later relocated with Bill’s job to Watford City, ND to Levelland, TX back to Odessa, TX and returned to Gillette, WY before finally building their home in Pine Haven, WY. Joyce and Bill loved to travel with their best friends, Claude and Charlotte Dower and youngest daughter, Teresa and her husband Jason. Joyce is survived by her husband, William (Bill) Stump of Pine Haven, WY; daughters, Debra (Charles) Varner of Midland, TX; Rena (Donald) Nelson of Keene, ND; and Teresa (Jason) Kannegieter of Gillette, WY; sister, Gracie Willis of Odessa, TX; grandchildren Billy (Ashley) Varner of Hobbs, NM; Lezlie (Nate) Varner of Hobbs, NM; Rebecca Cundiff of Watford City, ND; Nathan Lohse of Fairview, MT; Curtis Lohse of Bismarck, ND; and Desiree Kannegieter of Gillette, WY; great-grandchildren Hayley, Brooklyn, Aubrey, Joe Joe, William, Walker, Landen, Natasha, Madi, Kae, Gracelyn, Payson, Kylie, Kyah, Jonnie and Arianna and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Madie Belle Wilson and brothers, Fred Wilson and Doyle MacArthur Wilson. Joyce will be greatly missed but her journey is over with no pain and back in the arms of God.
