Funeral service for Kerry Wagner will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2020 at Gillette Memorial Chapel; with Chaplain Donny Edwards officiating. Visitation will take place two hours prior beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Kerry Wagner age 69, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Close to Home Hospice from liver disease. Kerry Dennis Wagner was born on September 22, 1950 in Wheatland, Wyoming. He graduated from Wheatland High School in May of 1970. Shortly after graduation Kerry enlisted in the United States Army, on April 1, 1972. Kerry served in the Army for three years. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he moved to Gillette to work road construction. In 1978, Kerry started working for Carter Mining as an equipment operator. He worked in the coal industry for 28 years. During this time, he also volunteered as a firefighter. Kerry enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar or any racing, and watching football. Kerry is survived by son, Dallas Wagner; daughter, Dessa Gydesen; grandson, Kolby Wagner; granddaughter, Tanisha West; sisters, Linda, Buggy, Lavona “TinK”, and Deb; brothers, Duane, Dave and Dwight; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Kerry is preceded in death by his parents, Randena and Wesley Wagner; brother, Wesley Wagner Jr.; and nephew, Jason Havard.
