Larry Lempka, 66, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024. Services begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024 at High Plains Community Church with Pastor Dan Morgan officiating. Larry was born April 22, 1957, in Oshkosh, Nebraska, to Kenneth and Joan Lempka. He grew up in Morrill, Nebraska, with his nine siblings. He loved athletics and played football, basketball, and ran track. He completed the radiology technologist program in Western Nebraska and started his first job at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette in 1977. He married his high school sweetheart, Susan, Sept. 3, 1978. He worked as a radiology technologist for six years and then in 1983 became the department manager. He finished his 38-year career at Campbell County Health as the PACS administrator. Larry adored being a father and grandfather and enjoyed coaching and playing soccer and being involved in whatever activity his kids were doing. Larry had a deep love and faith in Christ. He served over the years on his church board, was a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, and working with teens through Young Life. Larry loved being with his family, which included many weekends at the lake and holidays with his siblings and their families. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susan; daughter, Alissa (Kyle) Hunter; sons, Jordan Lempka, Paul (Callie) Lempka, and Andrew (Kelsy) Lempka; sisters, Cheryl Meyer, Kay Jackson, Kenda Knudsen, Deb (Russ) Fullmer, Kim (Mark) Schmidt, and Marsha (Kent) Jones; brothers, Kevin (Jacque) Lempka, and Rob (Bobbi) Lempka; brother-in-law, Greg Lofing; and grandchildren, Caitlyn, Brayden, Drew, Evan, Kora, Paxton, Cooper, Hezekiah and Hallie. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth; mother, Joan; sister, Diane Barnes; sister-in-law, Kathy Walker; brother-in-law, Greg Jackson; and nieces, Lara Nichols and Jaci Barnes.
