The Life Review of Leon Lowell Brady Leon was born in Storrs, Utah, on June 4, 1923, to Thelma and Lowell Brady. He was raised on the family’s ranch on the Douglas Creek in Colorado before until he became a nose gunner with the 460th bomb group of the Army Air Corps during WWII. He married Nadean Samuels on January 19, 1946, in Vernal, Utah. Leon and his family moved to Gillette, Wyoming, in 1968. He was a founding member of the Elks Club and a longstanding member of the American Legion before he started spending time with the Senior Singers at the Campbell County Senior Center. There was nothing better to Leon than a good, hard day's work, his family and friends, with a little bird hunting on the side. He is survived by his daughters Calleen Pettey of Vernal, Jeaneen (Drue) Dryden of Gillette, and Darlene (Tom) McLaughlin of Charlotte, NC. He was blessed with six grandchildren: Brittany (Shawn) Lane of Arvada, CO; Cole Dryden of Denver, CO; Janessa Truss and Derek Pettey of Vernal; Brady (Alexandria) McLaughlin and Ryan McLaughlin of Charlotte; and seven great-grandchildren. His sisters Gwen Elam of American Fork, UT, and Lois Adams of Las Vegas, NV; brother Doug (Geraldine) Brady of Fruita, CO; along with numerous nieces and nephews will also miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife Nadean, his parents, and brothers Glen, Keith and Lorain. A celebration of Leon’s life will be held at the Campbell County Senior Center on Friday, September 29, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. The family request that memorials be made in Leon’s name to Campbell County Senior Center.
