Linda Kay (Sheffield) Vigil made her journey to Heaven Thursday, February 7, 2019. Linda was born in Mitchell, South Dakota on July 16, 1963 to Edward and Marliss Sheffield. She attended country school in the Mitchell area and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1981. Linda received her Clinical Laboratory Tech Certificate from Mitchell Area Vo-tec. She worked as a Lab Technician and Phlebotomist for over 30 years. Linda became a very talented and respected Phlebotomist where ever she worked. She retired in 2018 due to her ongoing battle with breast cancer that had metastasized to her bones. Linda was a devoted wife to her husband of 30 years Terry Vigil. Together they raised 3 children, Joseph Henry Vigil, Aaron Nathaniel Vigil, and Hailey Nicole (Vigil) Hall. Linda’s family was her greatest joy and she was the center of her family. Linda lived her life for her savior Jesus Christ each and every day. She volunteered for many children’s summer camps, Sunday kid’s church, and numerous fund raisers. Her faith in Jesus was quietly expressed daily to all who she crossed paths with. Linda, was a passionate walker, walking up to 7 miles a day, even after working on her feet all day. Linda taught us how to live life to its fullest and how to finish strong even in the midst of a raging storm. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials and condolences may be sent in Linda’s name in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel 210 West 5th Street, Gillette, WY 82716. Condolences may also be expressed at www.gillettememorialchapel.com
