Marilyn was 93 years old and was living in Gillette, Wyoming when she passed away at her home on July 10, 2024 as a Christian, she was a strong believer in Jesus and often said that she looked forward to her reunion with those who had preceded her. She was born on March 21, 1931 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Arthur and Edna Chidester who preceded her in death. Marilyn was married to Willis Rousey from 1953 until his passing in 1997. Marilyn graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1949. She held several positions in the workforce, married Willis, had three children, and then attended McPherson school of Nursing where she graduated with her LVN license in 1978. Her long nursing career in Kansas then lead her to Idaho where she and Willis fostered 4 girls. Marilyn’s favorite field of nursing was working with babies. Later moving to Washington State, she worked as a supervisor for a community golf course. She returned to Hutchinson, Kansas to care for her ailing mother in 1997. Marilyn enjoyed her little dog Jazz, singing, dancing, playing cards, making wind catchers, and “adventures in camping” with her husband Willis. Marilyn is survived by her sibling SherrY Bock, son Bruce (Kathy) Gilbaugh, daughter Jane Thimmesch, and son Roger Rousey, 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 11 great great-grandchildren.
