Melvin Wallace Patenaude

Melvin (Mel) Patenaude, age 74, of Gillette, WY passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at home in Gillette WY. Melvin Wallace (Mel) Patenaude was born on April 19, 1943 in Belcourt, ND to George and Julia “Blanche” (Short) Patenaude. He was raised in the Belcourt area and attended school there as well. Mel went to seminary school in Nebraska when drafted in Army where he spent 2 years, Mel married Barbara (Hammond) Patenaude. He was very close to his grandson, Casey Lessert. Mel worked in the oil fields for 42 years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and camping in his RV and the mountains. He will be greatly missed by family and friends and all the oilfield community. Mel is survived by his wife, Barbara Patenaude; sons, David (Angela) Patenaude of Gillette; Rick(Yeyen) Patenaude for Jakarta, Indonesia; and daughter, Brenda Turley of Inverness Florida; siblings, Elizabeth Beston and  Carol Patenaude both of Belcourt ND. He had numerous grandsons and granddaughters and as well as great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Julia Patenaude; brother, John and son, Edward. As per request no funeral services are planned. Cremation is in care of Walker Funeral Home.
