Patrick Charles Walport

January 27, 1968 — June 12, 2024

Gillette

Patrick C. Walport (Pat, P-Diddy) passed away peacefully at Campbell County Memorial Hospital on June 12, 2024 at 56 years old surrounded by his loving family. Patrick was born on January 27, 1968 in Casper, WY to James and Eileen Walport. He started school in Casper at St. Anthony Catholic School and continued his education at Dean Morgan Jr. High until his family moved to Gillette. Once in Gillette he attended Twin Spruce Jr. High and graduated from Campbell County High School in 1986, eventually graduating Diesel Mechanic Trade School in Casper, WY.

Patrick married his high school sweetheart Elizabeth Melby and of that union two beautiful children were born, Christopher Levi and Lacey Marie. Patrick then moved to Minneapolis, MN with his new family where they lived for 10 years. While in Minnesota Patrick worked as Maintenance Manager of an apartment complex.

Patrick returned home to Gillette, WY in 2004 to be closer to his parents after separating from Elizabeth. He did what he loved working as a mechanic at Thunder Basin Ford where he met the love of his life, Christie and her three beautiful daughters Tana, Natalie, and Toni. Pat and Christie’s love was a whirlwind romance. Once committed to each other they were inseparable for 20 years. Their union was official on October 31, 2006. In their 20 years of time together they enjoyed a house full of love, lots of laughter, music & good food. Patrick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, father in law, and best friend to many. He loved expressing his love for his friends and family with a backyard barbecue where he was the chef. It was important to Pat to show the people close to him he loved them in every way possible, from being everyone’s auto mechanic, to comfort food cook, to retrieving kids from all over.

Some of Pat's hobbies included playing his guitar, throwing farkle parties, watching Sci-Fi movies and Ghost Adventures, playing the Wii and being creative in the kitchen. Of P-Diddy's many hobbies his favorite was Nascar. Boy did he love Jeff Gordan.

Patrick is preceded in death by his mother, Eileen Walport and his brother, Andy Walport. Patrick is survived by his father Jim Walport; wife, Christie Walport; brother, Darel (Dawn) Petersen; his children, Christopher (Ashley) Walport, Lacey Walport, Tana (Nate) Sikkenga, Natalie (Eric) Benson, Toni (Brandon) Larson; grandchildren, Sterling Walport, Lucius Walport, Vanessa (Anand) Ableson, Tyler (Chloe) Sikkenga, Aspen Sikkenga, Jason Sikkenga, Rebecca Castillo-Benson, Shawn Benson, Oliver Benson, Logan Larson, Brittany Larson; brothers in law, Mike Arzy and Jim (Carmen) Arzy; sister in law, Carol (Monty) Webb; as well as many nieces, nephews, and lots of good friends.
