Pauline Joy Donaldson

Pauline Joy (Huffman) Donaldson age 86 passed away peacefully, Tuesday September 12, 2017 surrounded by family. Pauline was born December 16, 1930 the youngest of 9 children, born to Roy and Edna (Rickard) Huffman in St. Paul, MN. On August 16, 1949, she married the love of her life Nathaniel “Ned” Donaldson. To this union four children were born, Roxann, Margaret, Denny, and George. Pauline was actively involved with school functions as her children grew up. She was PTA president for many years, while her children attended Riverview Elementary. When her children reached high school, she and her husband were very active with Humboldt High School Band and Mounties Drum and Bugle Corp. Once her children entered high school she went to work for Mike Thomas TV and Appliance as a book keeper for many years. She was employed at Hancock Fabric at the time of her retirement. After retirement Pauline spent her time between her children’s homes in Wyoming, Arizona, and Minnesota. Pauline was an avid seamstress, quilter, baker and gardener. When not in her garden, sewing room, or baking in the kitchen, you would find her watching or listening and cheering on the Minnesota Twins, Vikings, Timberwolves and North Stars (back in the day) pending on the season. Pauline enjoyed being a grandma, great grandma and great great grandma. She always had time for them all. She was more than happy to sew and bake with them or for them, especially during holidays. She even hand made a wedding dress for one of her granddaughters. She loved her family; she was a quiet, constant source of strength, wisdom and comfort. Her laugh and smile were contagious to anyone who knew her. For many years she was an active member of the St. Paul Eagles Club. She was an active member of Cherokee Park United Church. Baking for church functions and making quilts for graduating and new born church members. Pauline is survived by her daughter, Roxann Wrenn of Gillette, WY; sons, Nathaniel “Denny” (Nancy) Donaldson Jr. of Mesa, AZ and George (Patti) Donaldson of Forest Lake, MN; her grandchildren: Richard (Autumn) Martin, Heather (Shawn) Lazzaretti, Robert (Melissa) Donaldson, Jenny Donaldson and fiancé Jeff Giller, Cassie (Ryan)Spiess, Brian Donaldson and Jessie (Michael) Cole; Great Grandchildren Kaitlin, Logan, Cody, Tylor, Nathaniel, Tannor, Dalton, Tashawna, Jacob, Hannah, Cameron, Laura, Brett, Trinidy, Landen and 2 more on the way; Great great grandchildren Paislee and Charles. Fur grand puppies Dancie, Paige, Mikki, Sadie, Taz, Moose and Coon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ned of 54 years; parents Roy and Edna Huffman; daughter Margaret; grandson Thomas; sisters, Marie Brown, Amy Saunders, Myrtle Forge, Irma Huffman, Ora Huffman; brothers, Oroville (Chuck) Huffman, Everett (Blackie) Huffman, Art Huffman. At Pauline’s request, there will be no services. The family requests that memorials be made in Pauline’s name to Close to Home Hospice in Gillette, Wyoming.
