Penelope "Penny" Ann Spidle

Funeral service for Penny Spidle, 70, of Gillette will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2018 at Gillette Memorial with Pastor Gordon Harper officiating. Penelope (Penny) Ann Spidle passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 following a courageous battle with cancer. Penny was born in Sundance, Wyoming on June 24, 1947 the youngest child of Charles and Edith Ballieu (Kunce).  They moved to Upton, WY shortly thereafter where she graduated from Upton High School in 1965.  Penny then moved to Rapid City, SD where she attended National Business College.  Penny met Dwayne Fraser, and moved to St Louis, MO and they were married in 1967. Penny had her son, Sam, in 1971, and her daughter Tanya in 1976 and moved to Denver, CO. Penny met John Spidle and they were married in June of 1993 and moved to Gillette, WY.    Penny and John were married until John passed away in 2009. Penny then met Lee Roy Green of Casper, WY.  They spent every day by each others side and were two peas in a pod.  They enjoyed camping, boating, visiting her children, going for drives in the Oldsmobile, visiting friends at the Legion and Eagles, and of course dancing! Penny was a beautiful person, inside and out.  She made lifelong friends very easily and cherished their friendship.  Heaven is a better place with her there. Penny is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Vincent, and brother, Kenneth.  Penny is survived by her loving sweetheart, Lee Roy Green, her brother, Gordon; son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Christen Fraser of Aurora, Co; daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and Andrew Leird of Marathon, Fl; step-son and wife, Landon and Deanna Green of Casper, WY; grandson, Thomas Fraser of Denver, Co; step-grandchildren, Alex, Aidan, and Logan Leird of FL. The family request that memorials be made in Penny’s name to Close to Home Hospice for those families that need extra support.
