Penny Rae Fullenwider, 67, passed away on October 17, 2024 in her home in Buffalo, WY.
Penny was born in Miles City, MT, on May 8, 1957, the daughter of Jean Lockwood and Wallace Wood. She was the younger sister to Rodney Wood. Growing up Penny loved being at the family ranch at Coalwood and spending time with the “country cousins”. Penny grew up in Miles City and graduated from Custer County High School in 1975.
Penny eventually moved to Gillette, WY, where she met and married, Donnie Fullenwider, on August 4, 1979. Together, they were blessed with three sons: Brandon, Kellen, and Justin. Penny dedicated several years working at Occupational Testing, where she formed lifelong friendships.
For those who knew her, Penny’s greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. “Mimi” loved her family more than anything and was always cheering them on in any event or milestone. To her grandkids, there was no place like Mimi’s place. Her home was a warm haven of love where many memories were made.
Penny enjoyed spending time laughing with her girlfriends, camping in the mountains, the sound of the creek, the wildflowers in bloom and the smell of the campfire. She could often be found tinkering around in her garden and was always up for a patio chat and a cocktail. Aside from her love for steak and crab she also inherited her mother’s sweet tooth and would never turn down dessert.
Penny is survived by her 3 sons: Brandon Fullenwider of Gillette, WY, Kellen (Randee) Fullenwider of Mesa, AZ, and Justin Fullenwider of Arvada, CO; 4 grandchildren Haevyn, Hudsynn, Rhett, and Reece Fullenwider; her brother Rodney Wood of Cody, WY; and her cat Gus. She was preceded in death by her parents.
