Raymond Lynn Monger, a beloved father, husband, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, WY. Born on September 2, 1955, to Joseph and Delores Monger in Denver, Colorado, Raymond dedicated his life to his family and his career as a carpenter for VanEwing Construction until his well-deserved retirement in the last two years.
Throughout his life, Raymond was known for his quick wit which endeared him to all who knew him. Laughing at the most inappropriate time was his hallmark, and both his sense of humor and warmth were traits that his daughter inherited and cherishes. Raymond was not only a skilled carpenter but also a devoted family man who always put the needs of his loved ones above everything else.
In his free time, Raymond enjoyed various hobbies including fishing, motorcycling, woodworking, camping, and reading. These activities not only brought him immense joy, but through them, Ray learned anything he needed to learn, fixed anything he needed to fix, built anything his heart desired, and loved exactly who he wanted to love.
Raymond will be deeply missed by his surviving family members including his spouse, Deborah "Cookie" Monger; sister, Bonnie Britton; brothers, Alan Monger and Joseph Monger; daughter, Jessica Thomas (Nick); step-daughters, Nanette Cunningham (Shawn), Candace McMillan (Nathan), Faith Hampton; step-son, Caleb Hampton (LeAnna); along with a large extended family of 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, all whom held a special place in his heart.
Raymond is preceded in death by his father Joseph L. Monger Sr., mother Delores K. Monger, and brother Ronald Monger. Their memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved Raymond. May he rest in peace knowing he was cherished by all who had the privilege of calling him a friend or family. To say he will be missed is an understatement.
A celebration of life barbeque will be held on Saturday, June 8th, 2024, at the Cam-Plex Park WPA building from 4pm - 8pm (1635 Reata Dr., Gillette, WY, 82718).
