Memorial service for Rebecca (Becky) Brazelton will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the High Plains Community Church, 3101 West Lakeway Road, Gillette, WY, with Pastor Dan Morgan officiating. Rebecca Suzanne (Becky) Brazelton passed away at the age of 55 following a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in the struggle and ultimately gave her peace. Becky was born in Gillette on November 8, 1961, to the late Jack Edwards and June Edwards. On July 10, 1982, she married her best friend, Steve. They were blessed with three beautiful children and five grandchildren. Steve and Becky breezed through 35 years of marriage. Becky’s greatest joy was her husband, children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, camping, family game nights, and Sunday family dinners. Becky was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. She was especially proud of the fact that she never got a speeding ticket. Becky lived her whole life in Gillette. She was hired at the Campbell County Treasurer’s Office on her birthday in 1982. She enjoyed her work and virtually grew up there. Becoming Treasurer in 2015 was a goal she was so gratified to accomplish because she loved her staff and serving Campbell County. One of Becky’s favorite adventures was the trip to Hawaii which Steve won through work. It coincided with their 25th wedding anniversary. Their 2-week trip provided an endless source of fond memories. Becky is survived by her husband, Steve; her 3 children, Tawnya (Chris) Odegard, Courtney (Toby) Bennett, and Derek (Abbey) Brazelton; and five precious grandchildren; her mother, June (Jack) Edwards; her sister, Barbara (Doug) Gustafson; her brother, Bob (Lois Ann) Edwards; several nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Edwards. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heptner Cancer Center, Close to Home Hospice House, or Hospice CCH, all in Gillette. Memorials and condolences may also be sent in care of Walker Funeral Home 410 Medical Arts Court, Gillette, WY 82716. Condolences may also be expressed at www.walkerfuneralgillette.com
