Thomas Lloyd Walker

Thomas Lloyd Walker, age 62, formerly of Gillette, WY, went peacefully to his heavenly home on April 18, 2020. Tom was born March 7, 1958 in Alliance, Nebraska to Vernon and Janice (Stinnette) Walker (Huddle).

During his school years he and his family traveled around the United States racing Greyhound dogs. He graduated from Hyannis High School in 1976 at Hyannis, Nebraska. Tom enjoyed many hobbies. Among them were pyrotechnics, watching thunderstorms, dirt biking, motorcycling, four-wheelers, shooting, racing RC cars, flying model airplanes, and talking on the Amateur HAM Radio (call sign W0TLW General Class). Tom also loved going fishing, camping, and family BBQ’s. Tom was a Locomotive Engineer with the Burlington Northern Railroad for many years before becoming disabled due to health issues.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Tiffany (Dusty) Martin of Gillette, WY, and granddaughters Skylynn, Lexey, and Kyleigh Martin; sister, Tammy (Walker) Carr of North Platte, NE; step-dad, Floyd Huddle, of Thedford NE; Uncle Doug (Mel) Stinnette and Uncle Larry Stinnette, of Alliance, NE; several cousins; niece Katy (Nathan) Pedersen and great nephews of North Platte, NE; nephew David (Jennifer) Carr and great nephews of Grand Island, NE.

Tom is preceded in death by his wife, Leslie (Stephens) Walker; mother, Janice Huddle; father, Vernon L. Walker; grandparents Mildred M. and Richard L. Walker; grandparents Alyce “Maxcine” and Cecil R. Stinnettee; infant son, Michael James Walker; and step-daughter, Jessica Lynn Shipp.

Visitation will be at Walker Funeral Home in Gillette, WY at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2020. Graveside services will follow immediately afterwards at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, WY.
