Virginia (Babe) R. Allen Dean(Bears), 84 of Gillette, Wyoming, passed away on September 21,2020, of natural causes. She was born to Samuel Marshall Bears and Annie Gertrude (Marsh) Bears on July 25, 1936, in Buckhorn, Wyoming. She was one of nine children. Virginia had an eighth-grade education.
On June 3, 1953, Virginia Bears married Norman (Buster) Burton Allen II. From that union they had three children, Norman Burton Allen III, Virginia (Ginger) Rose Eslinger, and Annie Amalia Starbuck. In 1974, they divorced. She remarried Tom Dean in 1983, they had no children from this union. They divorced several years later. Virginia was a single parent, raising three children. Virginia has numerous occupations; she was a farmer’s wife and a caretaker for John Pettibone. Virginia worked in Wright, Wyoming as a truck driver and a flagger. She helped build highway 59. Virginia was a cook at Lula Bells Cafe and a maid at the Montgomery Hotel. Virginia moved to Gillette, Wyoming in 1978. She started the Fox Park Care. Virginia ran the daycare for over 25 years. She retired from the daycare. Virginia volunteered at the Rockpile Museum, as a clerk. Virginia loved to bake bread, she sold her homemade rolls to Lula Belles and Mona's Cafe. She sewed clothes for her children. She liked to craft and write letters. Virginia enjoyed hunting and fishing. Virginia is survived by her three children, Norman Burton Allen III (Teresa), Virginia Rose Eslinger (Lewis) and Annie Amalia Starbuck, of Gillette, Wyoming. Grandchildren: Levi Sorenson, Bobby Sorenson, Terry Anderson, Bo Anderson, Josie Gunter, Miles Starbuck, Casey Starbuck, and Dalton Starbuck, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Virginia's two brothers, Samson Bears (Deb) of Hulett, Wyoming and Marshall (Ark) Bears of Story, Wyoming. Her two dogs and birds. Virginia was predeceased by Norman Burton Allen II and Tom Dean, her sisters Herberta (Bertie) Johnson and Janet Conzelman, her brothers Sammy Bears, Alfred Bears and Lewis Bears and her parents Samuel and Annie Bears, and a nephew Jeff Bears. A Memorial service of the celebration of Virginia's life on September 29, 2020, viewing at 10:00 am and service at 11:00 am at the First Assembly of God Church, 601 Carey Ave. Gillette, Wyoming. A burial procession will be at 2:00 pm, the Inyan Kara Cemetery in Sundance, Wyoming. A reception of a potluck dinner to follow. Can contact Annie Starbuck at 307-680-3027 for more information.
