Virginia B. Weischedel

Virginia (Ginny) Weischedel, 93, passed away peacefully at her home in Recluse, WY on April 9, 2024. She was born April 19, 1930 to Earl and Eva Swim in Morrill, NE.

She married Ted Weischedel on December 24, 1949. To this union three children were born; Sheila, Cheryl and Daniel. Ted surveyed dams for the Bureau of Reclamation. His job required lots of moving to many states and overseas to Bangkok, Thailand from almost three years. When they moved to the ranch in Recluse in 1982, it was the longest time in one place.

Among her many hobbies were gardening, canning, sewing clothes, luggage and upholstery. Most knew she was a great artist. Sheila and Ginny researched genealogy. Her and Ted even had a diploma from Square Dance School. She loved to read Western novels and traveled 60 miles on the Cowboy State Centennial Wagon Train in 1990 to experience the past; she loved it!

She loved her family, friends and animals. She was a longstanding member of the Pleasant Hour Ladies Club of Recluse.

Ginny is preceded in death by her husband, Ted (2016); daughter, Sheila Allen (2020); parents; siblings, Charolette (Ernie) Roach, Clayton and Ralph Swim; in-laws, Raymond and Ada Weischedel; brothers-in-law, Rich (Anne) Weischedel, Jacob (Gertrude) Weischedel, Harold Weischedel; sisters-in-law, Elnora Swim, Lynn Swim, Erma (Roland) Rumph, Betty (Jack) Cotton, Carol (Irvil) Schultz.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Dan) Kotschwar of Farnam, NE and son Daniel (Anita) Weischedel of Recluse, WY; brothers, Raymond (Raimie) Swim and Richard Swim; sister-in-law, Katherine Weischedel; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She will be missed.
