A funeral service for Matthew Ryan Boyer will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Gillette Memorial Chapel, Gillette, WY. Visitation will be 4:00p.m. 7:00p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Matthew Boyer, age 25, of Gillette, Wyoming died at his home Thursday, November 28, 2013. Matthew was born Oct. 24th, 1988 in Mesa, AZ and moved to Gillette, WY soon after with his mother and brother to be closer to family. He attended Gillette area schools and earned his GED. Matthew worked as an Apprentice Plumber for Powder River Heating, following in the footsteps of his father and brother. Growing up, Matthew was a fearless little boy always looking for an adventure. When he wasn't climbing trees or exploring the pastures behind his grandparent's house in Pine Haven, he was performing tricks on a skateboard, snowboard, or bike. His passion was his Harley Davidson, which he rode rain or shine, no matter the season. He was an amazing artist who loved to draw and tattoo. He was also an avid dog lover. Spending time with his friends and family was a very important aspect of his life. He was said to have never met a stranger and would give the clothes off his back to help someone in need. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Tonia Spruhan of Gillette; five brothers, Josh (Britney) Boyer of Gillette, Ryan (Richelle) Spruhan of Tiger, GA, Kurtis Spruhan of LaQuinte, CA, Matthew (Renee) Spruhan of Fort Worth, TX, and Nathan (Rachelle) Spruhan of Fort Worth, TX; his grandfather, Beryl Thomas of Courtland, KS; three Uncles, Terry (Jennifer) Thomas of Seattle, WA, Travis Thomas of Gillette, and Thadius (Danelle) Fields of Ord, NE; his aunts, Tia (JD) Robinson of Hannibal, MO, Valerie Pritchard of Virginia Beach, VA, Nancy (Marlin) Monroe of Fort Worth, TX, and Karen Spruhan of Hilo, HI; two nephews, Tabin Boyer and Isiah Spruhan; four nieces, Tove Boyer, Arianna Spruhan, Isabella Spruhan, and Alice Spruhan.; as well as numerous cousins, family members, and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Glenna Fields, and his grandfathers Dave Fields, Eddy Boyer, Sr., and Frank Spruhan.
